Touching Grass is a new linocut edition depicting bare feet wandering through grasses and wildflowers. It is inspired by my recent work at the Walled Garden in Wollaton Park in Nottingham.

The term "touching grass" can often refer to the popular phrase which means to step away from your screen, leave the internet and experience the real physical world. Walking barefoot on grass can be a grounding experience, which facilitates reducing stress and relaxing the mind. Spending time in nature and feeling natural textures lowers stress hormones like cortisol. Outdoor relaxation can help support your body's natural circadian rhythm and aid sleep. Walking without shoes activates small muscles, tendons, and ligaments in your feet and ankles.
